Arkansas Tax Deadline Nears as State Processes Over 950,000 Returns

With the April 15th tax deadline quickly approaching, the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) is reminding residents to file their state income tax returns on time.

In a recent Facebook post, the agency emphasized that April 15 remains the deadline for submitting state returns. However, officials noted that taxpayers who have already received a federal extension do not need to file a separate extension for their Arkansas state taxes.

So far this tax season, DFA reports it has processed more than 950,000 individual income tax returns. Of those, approximately 541,000 refunds have already been issued to taxpayers across the state.

The agency also shared that the average refund this year stands at $406 dollars, offering a modest boost to many Arkansans as they complete their filings.

DFA encourages anyone who has not yet filed to do so promptly to avoid penalties and ensure timely processing.
