Arrest Made in Stolen Motorcycle Case
A Nashville man has been arrested in connection with a motorcycle theft in Pike County. Sheriff’s deputies say a 2018 Honda motorcycle was taken from a residence on Highway 27 September 8th. That same night, a motorcycle matching the description of the stolen cycle was observed by Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Gates on Highway 27 at the Kirby School. Gates conducted a traffic stop. Police reports say the driver, identified as 42 year old David Rhodes of Nashville, told Deputy Gates that he was considering to purchase the vehicle and was taking for a test ride. Rhodes told deputies it belonged to someone in Nashville and was traded for drugs, but refused to give that person’s information to authorities.
Rhodes was transported to the Pike County Jail. He has been charged with a felony count of Theft By Receiving.
