Women’s History Month is a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture and society and has been observed annually in the month of March in the United States since 1987.

In honor of Women’s History Month, we are recognizing Nashville native and English Speakers of other Languages Coordinator Kimberly Dunham.
Dunham talked about some of her greatest accomplishments down through the years.

Dunham expressed that a conversation with the late Latito Williams, who was the principal of the Nashville Elementary School, is what inspired her to become an educator.

Dunham even had encouraging words for the younger generation.

Throughout the month, we want to encourage recognition of women, past and present, who have been active in all forms of media and storytelling and women that’s been active in our local community.
