Artificial Turf Almost Complete At Wilson Park
The artificial turf installation project at Wilson Park is nearing completion. Scrapper Baseball Coach Kyle Slayton says crews have indicated to him that they plan to be finished Sunday. School officials were hoping to have the project wrapped up by the time classes returned after the Christmas New Year’s break, however, weather delays caused the installation to take longer than expected.
Coach Slayton says the Scrapper baseball team is expected to host their first practice session on the new turn Tuesday afternoon.
Wilson Park is set to host more than a dozen Scrapper baseball games in the 2020 season. The annual hit-a-thon, along with a benefit game against Murfreesboro, is scheduled for February 24th. The first game of the baseball season will be played at Wilson Park March 2nd against Magnet Cove and the annual Ralph Gross Tournament will take place March 5th through 7th.
