A plea recommendation has been filed for a Little River County woman charged with negligent homicide for a 2020 fatal accident.
According to records filed last week in the Little River Circuit Court, 21-year-old Hannah Sisemore of Ashdown entered a guilty plea statement on charges of negligent homicide, DWI and second degree battery. A plea recommendation signed by the prosecuting attorney suggests a sentence of 120 days in jail, a $2,000 fine and 10 years probation.
Sisemore was charged with the offenses in 2020 following the accident in June of that year. According to the Arkansas State Police, Sisemore was the driving a vehicle when her vehicle left the roadway and overturned. Twenty-year-old Jonathan Gaines was a passenger in the vehicle and died at the scene. Another passenger was ejected and severely injured. No other vehicles were involved in the accident. Sisemore was 18-years-old at the time of the accident.
An investigation determined Sisemore was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
Sisemore was scheduled for a trial this week but entered a guilty plea over all charges on Aug. 9.
