Athletic Dead Period Set For High School Sports
The Arkansas Activities Association has voted this week to allow school districts to make their own decision regarding the annual summer dead period that runs from June 21st through July 5th.
In past years, the dead period is held each summer to give athletes a break form summer workout schedules. However, due to the extended break required because of the coronavirus in the spring, the AAA said individual districts can make their own determination this year.
Nashville school officials decided Wednesday to observe the week of July 3rd through 10th as this year’s dead period.
