Attorney General – $1 Million Grant
During the Arkansas Rural Development Conference it was announced that $1 million in the form of a grant would go to benefit the Arkansas State Police for the Emergency Vehicle Operations center and officer driving course. Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge says, “When families look at moving to a community, they look at the crime rate and education opportunities for their children. This training facility can be used by all state and local law enforcement to better train our officers so we can have safer communication.” Rutledge recently allocated funds for law enforcement programs which include the law enforcement public safety equipment grant program, child abduction response team funds, sheriff’s association honor guard uniforms and resources to offset overcrowding in local jails.
