Awards given at the Nashville Chamber of Commerce Banquet

Monday, the Nashville Chamber of Commerce hosted the Annual Chamber Award Banquet. This year’s theme was We Shine Through.

Michael and Joanna Howard received the Orange and Black Education award. This award was given to someone that serves the community and that plays a part at the school. Both Michael and Joanna serve the community and the school, and they are lifelong Scrappers. Howard said that receiving this award meant so much to him.

Billy Ray Jones received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Jones’ family did a tribute and talked about some of the things that he accomplished. Jones said although he’s worked for over 40 years he’s not done and he’s still going.

The woman of the year award was given to Lisa Hagler who is a teacher at Nashville Junior High. Hagler said to her this means encouragement and support and she is thankful to the community. 

The man of the year award was given to Luis Maya Sr who is a local business owner in the area. Maya said he was very thankful for this opportunity and for the people in the community. 

New Business Awards were given to Chicken Express, Kooyons, Eddie’s BBQ and More, Trusted Health and Wellness, Squirrels Nest, Y Lz Cleaning Service, Team Asset Design, Elite Home Health, and Bumper to Bumper. 
New Board members were announced at the banquet as well, and they are Tara Green of Farmers Bank and Trust, Wendy Rojas of Red River Federal Credit Union, and Jennifer Revels of Pafford Medical Services.
