The Mine Creek Soil & Water Conservation District board of directors recently selected Barrett Jackson to receive a $500 scholarship.
Mark Millwood, Chairman of the district board, says Jackson is a senior at Nashville high School, where he maintains a 4.0 grade point average.
Jackson is a member of the, Nashville High School FFA where he participates in the following; Show Team, Land Judging Team, he was awarded High Point Individual in Howard County in 2019 Mine Creek Land Judging Contest, Ag Mechanics, Chapter Reporter Junior Advisor, Star Green Hand Award, member of the SWARK Shooting sports team, National Honor Society, FBLA ,and Hempstead Co 4H District he was a 4H Record Book winner in Howard County 4H.
Jackson plans to attend Southern Arkansas University and pursue a degree AG Business.
Jackson is the son of Bill and Jodi Jackson of Ozan.
Millwood stated that the scholarships are given each year to a Howard County High School Senior that plans on attending a college and pursuing a degree in a conservation or agricultural related field.
