The 92nd General Assembly of the Arkansas State Legislature started last week and this year the speaker of the House announced committee selections.
The House consists of 10 standing committees, 7 select committees and 3 special committees. A vast majority of legislation introduced in the regular session is assigned to a standing committee.
Local representative Justin Gonzales is serving as the vice chairperson of the state agencies and governmental affairs standing committee and is a member of the public health, welfare and labor committee. Gonzales was also selected for the joint committee on energy.
Representative DeAnn Vaught is also serving on several committees including Insurance and Commerce, and education. Also, the rules committee and house management.
