Executive director of Imagination Library Arkansas, Dr. Charlotte Green spoke to the Nashville Rotary club on Wednesday. The goal of the Arkansas Imagination Library is to ensure that every child in Arkansas, birth to age five, has the opportunity to receive a personal set of books delivered monthly to his/her home mailbox prior to entering school. There are only about four counties not participating, including Howard and Hempstead counties. Green talked about how the program can help promote literacy and prepare children for grade school. Rotary club members discussed possibly launching a partnership and will follow up at a later date.
