Nashville Rural Water Repairs Large Leak

The North Howard Water Association has approached at least two entities seeking new management. Board members of the Nashville Rural Water Public Authority met Tuesday and said they would not pursue any further commitment to North Howard, in fear that it might put Nashville Rural Water in financial distress. Administrators of the North Howard Water Association will meet with Dierks city officials on February 19th to see if the municipality would be interested in management of the system.

The Nashville Rural Water Public Authority board met Tuesday and discussed a rather large water leak that had recently been repaired. After several attempts to find the leak, employees discovered it on a 12″ line that feeds the Chapel Hill tank. There were no customers on that line and the leak was discovered in a pond crossing on Mt Pleasant Drive. Water Manager Ryan Stuckey reported that the leak had resulted in a 10 million gallon water loss.

The board also elected new officers for 2019. Jeremy Allmon made a motion to retain the same officers Mark Dowdy, President, Steve Meyer, Vice President, and Danny Raulerson, Secretary-Treasurer. The motion passed unanimously.
