The Mineral Springs City Council accepted a bid at Monday’s monthly meeting for the installation of new playground equipment at the city park. The winning bid was Han Equipment of New Orleans, Louisiana at $35,000. Mayor Bobby Tullis says the council also passed a transient peddlers ordinance in order to require anyone selling door to door or from vehicles to obtain a permit. He says the language mirrors the city of Nashville’s ordinance. The council also passed an ordinance repealing a 1934 ordinance to allow electronic games at city businesses. The ordinance basically states that if it is legal in Arkansas, that it is legal in Mineral Springs. The games are not considered gambling as there are no cash prizes, the prizes must be something inside the store.
