Evans selected as Nashville Primary School Principal

Nathan Evans

The Nashville School Board filled three positions during a special called meeting on Thursday. The board approved the hire of Nathan Evans as Primary Principal to replace Shirley Wright, who is retiring at the end of the school year. Evans has served as the Assistant Principal at the school for the past year. Board members also approved a transfer. Ron Alexander is getting out of athletics and will now be the maintenance supervisor for the school district. Superintendent Doug Graham noted that there would be no salary changes, that both Alexander and James “Bunch” Nichols would keep the same salary as they currently have. Alexander has coached 19 years at Nashville with many award winning teams.

The last approval included LaDonna Curtis from a .6 FTE to a 1.0 full-time equivalent as LEA Section 504 Coordinator. The board also accepted the resignation of Speech Therapist Carolyn Couch.

Superintendent Graham said that nine applicants have applied for the high school band director position. New open positions will include senior girls basketball and track, junior girls basketball and track, primary assistant principal and the district will seek to hire a speech therapist.
