Directors of the Dierks Chamber of Commerce and City of Dierks are taking a second look at the existing city park ball fields. Preliminary work had been conducted on a site north of town, however that would be a large financial commitment.
Chamber Director Jerry Mounts says he and Mayor Rodney Cogburn recently met with the city engineer to discuss raising the existing fields. The engineer believes the city has a good chance to secure matching grant dollars for the improvements. Mounts says they still need volunteers and financial assistance for the project.
