Area Man Dies From Apparent Self Inflicted Gunshot Wound

An area man died Saturday morning from an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound.  Sheriff Bryan McJunkins said his department was dispatched around 4 a.m. to a residence on Corn Bridge Road.  Upon arrival, Deputy Kevin Rodgers said he found 45 year old Coy Lee Lemons deceased on the back porch of his mother’s residence.  Lemons’ mother told Deputy Rodgers & Investigator Joey Davis that she had previously talked her son into giving her the gun.  After she put the weapon up, deputies say Lemons retrieved the gun and shot himself on the back porch. 
The incident remains under investigation.
