Mineral Springs City Council Discusses Park Commission

The Mineral Springs City Council held a brief meeting on Monday to discuss how the park committee operates. City Recorder/Treasurer April Nail talked about the lack of organization and how the financial obligations are hindering city operations. Councilman Steve Dixon stated that the park committee in the past had handled all of the duties, the city simply providing an account and some funding.

Mayor Bobby Tullis recommended that all of the responsibilities of the park commission be transferred out of city government. The council voted to table the recommendation until speaking to the park committee.

The council met at the Mineral Springs Police Department for Monday’s meeting and was able to view the newly renovated office. Chief Jeff Witherspoon also says a recent grant should provide funding for some new computer upgrades.
