NPD Training

The Nashville Police Department will be conducting additional training for officers in the next few months. Police Chief Amy Marion says a stop stick training took place Monday afternoon in conjunction with the sheriff’s department. Each patrol unit carries the device, which must be deployed quickly and in a manner in which it will not damage the police cars.

The Nashville Police Department also recently received a grant to obtain Naloxone, also known as Narcan, kits which contain a medication to quickly reverse the effects of an overdose from opiods. It will also provide additional tourniquets for officers. Training for the kits will take place on May 9th.

Chief Marion says the training will assist officers in being better prepared for various situations.
