Three Nashville High School seniors received a special recognition at this week’s annual scholarship banquet. Garrett Talley, Isabelle Martin, and Grace Campbell have received the Governor’s Distinguished Scholarship. School administrators said the state normally issues one of this type of scholarship per county.
The Governor’s Distinguished Scholarship is the most academically rigorous scholarship program offered for those graduating seniors scoring either 32 on the ACT or 1410 on the SAT, and a 3.50 academic grade point average.
The scholarship pays tuition, mandatory fees, room and board up to $10,000 per year.
Talley plans to attend Henderson State University. He has received a $48,000 university scholarship and an $8,000 band scholarship.
Martin plans to attend U of A Fayetteville and has received a $32,000 university scholarship and an $8,000 band scholarship.
Campbell plans to attend the University of Central Arkansas and has received a $34,000 scholarship.
