The Dierks City Council met for a special meeting on Tuesday to establish a park commission. Mayor Ronnie Cogburn says the commission was required in order to apply for a grant for park and ball field improvements. The commission includes Chase Quinn, Kevin Dinger, Jaron Tipton, Kevin Helms, Jarrod Fannin, Austin Walston, and Kyle Jones.
Mayor Cogburn says they hope to hear the results of the grant next month, which would help alleviate flooding issues. There was no other business heard during the meeting.
