Early voting has started in Howard and Pike Counties ahead of the May School Election, that will take place next Tuesday the 21st.
In Howard County, Kay Thornton of Saratoga is challenging incumbent Zemeria Newton of Tollett in zone 3 of the Mineral Springs School District. Early voting will be held at the Howard County Courthouse in Nashville or the Hempstead County Courthouse in Hope. Voters may cast a ballot from 8 until 4:30 at the county clerk’s office. Polls will be open on Tuesday from 7:30 until 7:30 at the Church of God in Tollette.
In Pike County, Centerpoint has a contested race in Zone 3 including Dale Sutton and Billy “Bubba” Spray. South Pike and Kirby Board races are unopposed. Early voting is at the county clerk’s office in Pike County from 8 until 4:30.
