Report from Sheriff James Singleton
On May 23, 2019 at approximately 0330 hours HCSO Deputies were contacted by dispatch and advised that Travis Jackson’s truck was located on its side in the woods around the 190 blocks of South Lake Road. While en route Dispatch advised that first responders advised that Travis was deceased in his truck. Deputy advised Dispatch to contact Arkansas State Police as well as the Hempstead County Coroner David Peters.
Upon arrival Deputy made contact with Saratoga first responders as well as Robert Gray. Robert advised that he is Travis’ son-in-law. Robert stated that he is the one who found Travis. Robert stated that he was headed home and saw something reflect in the woods. Robert said that he then backed up and observed that is was Travis’ truck and called the Dispatcher. Robert advised that he went and observed Travis laying in the truck and attempted to break the front windshield but was unsuccessful.
Saratoga first responders advised me that they broke the back windshield out and observed that Travis was deceased and left the scene alone.
I then observed that Travis’ truck left the roadway and hit a group of small trees that appeared to have caused the truck to flip on its passenger side. I also observed Travis laying on the passenger side door deceased.
