Nashville Primary School Announces
Accelerated Reader Winners
The students at NPS read and took computer generated quizzes on the books that they checked out at the school’s library. Kim Conatser, the Library Media Specialist sponsored a contest to help promote reading and comprehension. Students in kindergarten through third grade passed 15,943 tests for the year. There were 27 out of 33 classrooms who participated in the contest.
The grade level winners were K – First Place: Mrs. Goodwin’s Class, Second Place: Mrs. White’s Class, and Third Place: Mrs. Rachel’s Class; 1st Grade – First Place: Mrs. Hill’s Class, Second Place: Mrs. Worthen’s Class, and Third Place: Mrs. Parker’s Class; 2nd Grade – First Place: Mrs. Teague’s Class, Second Place: Mrs. Strickland’s Class, and Third Place: Mrs. Hood’s Class; 3rd Grade
– First Place: Mrs. Schwope’s Class, Second Place: Mrs. Darling’s Class, and Third Place: Mrs. Johnson’s Class. They were awarded with pizza, ice cream, and cookie parties.
Overall individual winners were 1st Grader Cherish Tucker who passed 456 tests and 1st Grader Lillyan McColley who had 200.3 points Other individual winners were K – First Place: Cooper Cogburn, Second Place: Miles Golston, and Third Place: Davonte Slaton and Jolie McLelland; 1st Grade – Third Place: Selina Berruquin-Alonso; 2nd Grade – First Grade: Bay Nolte, Second Place: Mack Arnold and Emiline Petty, and Third Place: Dalton Carter; 3rd Grade – First Place: Anna Renteria, Second Place: Blake Moody, and Third Place: Landon Magee and Halton Howard. We had two students who were in the 400 club, one in the 300 club, eight in the 200 club and twenty-nine in the 100 club. The winners received trophies, medals, ribbons, and/or certificates.
