The Howard Memorial Hospital Board of Directors reviewed the 2nd quarter update of the 2019 Strategic Plan and Goals at their monthly meeting, held on Tuesday. Several goals are ongoing, however the days cash on hand continues to increase and the hospital’s T-System, providing documentation and coding software, has been implemented. Now that the emergency department has an electronic medical record, provider NES would like to integrate the system with the Clinical Emergency Data Registry.
Other goals have been to increase volumes in programs. At this point, the volume for Rehab Services has increased 25.5% above the prior year. The HMH marketing committee is also planning a health fair to be held during the month of June.
Having nutrition classes was identified as a need, however was not on the top ten list of prioritized needs. However, HMH has hired a full-time Dietitian to conduct community-based education and individualized counseling starting in June.
