Mineral Springs City Council Appoints Dixon as Mayor

The Mineral Springs City Council on Monday appointed Steve Dixon to fill the remaining term of the mayor’s position. Bobby Tullis has resigned due to health issues. Dixon thanked the council for their confidence in him.

There will also be a vacancy in Dixon’s ward and the council will vote to appoint someone at next month’s meeting. In other business, the council also approved a motion to use a portion of the cemetery funds to pay off a water bond before new debt is incurred. The council also approved a resolution to allow the state highway department to pave several city streets as part of the street aid program.
