Arkansas Counts to ensure accurate counting during upcoming Census

Several smaller area communities are concerned about accurate counting as the 2020 census approaches. The issue has already been brought up at several city council meetings. A coalition called Arkansas Counts launched this week with a goal towards bringing more awareness to Arkansas residents on how to be counted in the upcoming census. The Complete Count Committee will meet next week in Monticello and discuss the 2020 census. Sarah Kinser, chief program officer of the Arkansas Community Foundation said that even a one percent undercount in the state could result in a loss of one billion dollars in federal funding. The committee members include Bobby Hart, superintendent of the Hope Public School District.
