Mineral Springs City Council holds special meeting to discuss water towers

The Mineral Springs City Council met in special session on Friday to discuss additional information concerning updates to the town’s two water towers. Council members voted to decline an offer from the Natural Resources Commission that would have provided funding to paint the tanks and for minor repairs. The loan would have required the city’s water rates to raise substantially. Currently, the minimum usage cost in Mineral Springs is $10 for 2000 gallons. The council will explore other options and are looking at possibly a municipal bond. Due to age, both water towers are in need of the updates.
