A group of concerned parents and students took part in a protest march on Saturday in Mineral Springs to object to the actions made by the school board to suspend Superintendent Thelma Forte.
Thelma Williams is a parent of three kids that go to school at Mineral Springs and said that Forte should be allowed to do the work that she was hired to do, which is to raise test scores and provide an education for students. Student Brihanna Collins also took part in the protest and said that Forte had helped to improve her grades and provided additional support programs.
Lavell Cole demanded that the board release information on why Forte was suspended.
Forte was suspended last Monday for the duration of her contract and the board re-hired Curtis Turner to serve in the interim.
