Nashville Rural Water Authority Manager Ryan Stuckey says flood damage estimates will be around $45,000 each in Howard County and Hempstead County. He estimates about 100,000 gallons of water was lost in the green plains area and 520,000 gallons at an Ozan creek crossing. Service has been restored to all rural water customers and only one repair remains. Stuckey says a six inch water transmission line to the Highland area still needs fixed and will require 30 loads of gravel to begin work.
The flood delayed plans Nashville Rural Water had for installation of new radio read meters, which will start soon. That installation will take about three weeks with the help of one additional contract labor.
