Several outstanding Nashville School District students with accomplishments in academics and athletics took part in the “Walk of Champions” at the annual back to school meeting for faculty and staff on Monday, August 5. Johnny Wilson, the voice of the Scrappers, read highlights of the past year as educators congratulated the students. Nashville Primary School celebrated third grade students who passed all sections of the ACT Aspire, in addition to other campuses. Several student organizations including trap shooting and FCCLA received recognition. The NHS championship baseball team, junior high basketball, and other sports also received high honors.
Steve Roberts, Associate Executive Director for the Arkansas Activities Association spoke Monday, August 5th at the Nashville School District back to school meeting for teachers and staff. Roberts gave an inspirational talk and spoke about pushing through failure. He previously coached at Arkansas State University for nine seasons and led the school to several post season honors. The first day of school for students will be Tuesday, August 13.
