Counties Eligible for FSA Aid

The United States Secretary of Agriculture, Sonny Perdue, has designated 44 counties as primary natural disaster areas and 24 counties as contiguous disaster areas in Arkansas, which makes farm operators in those counties eligible to be considered for certain assistance from Farm Service Agency (FSA). Farmers in eligible areas have eight months to apply for emergency loans.

The letter from Secretary Perdue is in response to a letter from Governor Asa Hutchinson on June 20th, 2019 in support of the State USDA FSA request for a disaster declaration for 47 counties that experienced losses caused by storms that occurred from September 20th, 2018 and continuing.

Sevier county is listed as a primary county, while Howard and Hempstead counties are listed as a contiguous county. Local FSA offices can provide affected farmers with further information.
