Tessa Dean, an ambassador for Ainsley’s Angels of America presented information at the Nashville Rotary club on Wednesday. Dean said the local area started participating in the program in early 2018 and has now grown to 21 athletes and around 70 angel runners.
The 501 c3 non-profit organization provides adaptive racing chairs to assist special needs individuals with the ability to compete in endurance events. Currently, nine chairs are available for use in the southwest Arkansas area through donations made in Sevier and Howard counties. Dean says they also provide education and provide opportunities for everyone to work together. Women Run Arkansas of Nashville recently donated funds to purchase a chair.
