Arkansas House Approves Highway Plan

The two components of Governor Asa Hutchinson’s highway plan passed on the House floor Monday afternoon. SB336 would provide $95 million in extra funding for highways. It passed with 71 yeas, 26 nays, and 2 present.

HJR1018 is a referral to Arkansas voters to extend a 1/2-cent sales tax for highways and roads that will sunset in 2023. The vote was 67 yeas, 30 nays, and 1 present.
