March is Women’s History Month, it’s a time to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions and achievements of women in every aspect of our community.President William Jefferson Clinton Birthplace Home National Historic Site proudly welcome Erica L. Ingram, Arkansas National Guard’s First Black Colonel on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 6:30 pm in the Rapert Library Auditorium on the campus of University of Arkansas Hope located at 2500 S. Main St. in Hope, AR.
Colonel Ingram is currently serves as the Personnel Management Officer for the Arkansas Army National Guard. Colonel Ingram has had the distinct honor and privilege to serve as the first African American female Arkansas National Guard Battalion Commander (2014), National Guard Association of Arkansas (NGAA) president (2014-2015) and most current the first African American female promoted to the rank of colonel in the Arkansas National Guard’s 215-year history.Colonel Ingram is a life member of the National Guard Association of Arkansas (NGAA) and the National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS) and former NGAA President.
She is also a Greater Leadership of Little Rock program alumnus. In addition, she currently serves as a “Big Sister” within the BigBrother/Big Sister of Central Arkansas program.This is a rare opportunity to hear to her story as a fellow Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) graduate, to gain advice for those who are considering military as a career as well as those already serving and her perspective on the balancing act of being a “Citizen Soldier” and the opportunities, challenges and ever-changing mission requirements for tomorrow’s Officer Corps.Colonel Ingram resides in Little Rock with her two daughters DeeDee (Ingram) Hutchins and Desarie.
