Bill Introduced in Arkansas for Permanent Daylight Saving Time

A bill that would keep Arkansas permanently on Daylight Saving Time has been introduced in the state House. This bill, introduced by Rep. Sarah Kapp of Ozark, would replace an earlier bill that had proposed Arkansas stay on Standard Time.

The proposal would still have a few other hurdles to jump if approved. The federal government currently does not allow permanent Daylight Saving Time and surrounding states Oklahoma and Missouri would also have to express similar interest.

Florida’s governor signed the “Sunshine Protection Act” last year to keep the state on Daylight Saving Time and are still waiting on approval from the federal government.
