Circuit Clerks Attend State Meeting

Howard County Circuit Clerk Angie Lewis and Pike County Circuit Clerk Sabrina Williams recently attended the state meeting of circuit clerks at Mt. Magazine, June 12-14, sponsored by the Association of Arkansas Counties.

Topics included how to prepare transcripts, records retention, updates to the contexte system, and information on bills passed during the legislative session.

Circuit clerks use Contexte to manage all aspects of court cases, including judge assignment, parties, violations, docketing, hearings and accounting.

Lewis said a new appeal process will begin July 1. They also discussed accounting problems with the new electronic filing software, eFlex. Instead of having to go to the courthouse to file a case, registered attorneys and parties may file their case-related documents on-line using eFlex.
