City of Nashville Receives Street Aid Funding

The city of Nashville has been approved for a $250,000 street overlay project through the State Aid Street Committee. The funding is the maximum amount allowed by the Committee’s adopted rules for an overlay project. Public Works Director Larry Dunaway announced at Monday’s city council meeting that the funding would be available for projects later this year.

City Park Director Mark Dale reported that baseball signups are now underway. He also reported that the park would be accepting softball signups for the ASA program that uses the local park facilities.

During Monday’s Nashville city council meeting, two ordinance amendments dealing with water and sewer tapping fees received approval. Dunaway said the amendments put the fees back in line with material costs. The council authorized Amy Marion as an authorized signer for the city’s bank accounts. Council members also passed a resolution to amend the 2018 budget with the final numbers as presented.
