City of Nashville Submits Flood Damage Expense

Nashville Mayor Billy Ray Jones has submitted a $1,400,000 flood damage expense estimate to Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson for review. The next step will be for the governor to declare the area a disaster, in order for state funds to become available. Mayor Jones says a large expense to the city and county will be for mitigation costs. The state could also possibly release additional funding to help with those projects if the disaster declaration is made. City officials will again be hosting state bridge inspectors today as they review recent repairs and discuss options for bridge improvements. FEMA officials are expected to visit the area next Tuesday.
