Dierks Council Discusses Maintenance Updates

The Dierks City Council discussed several upcoming projects at the February monthly meeting held on Monday. Mayor Ronnie Cogburn says he hopes that some grant funding can be secured for new water meters and for improvements to the ball fields at the city park. The council discussed a shock treatment for the sewer ponds to assist in keeping them compliant with ADEQ requirements.

Mayor Cogburn also reported that a total of 38 street lights had been repaired and that several missing or damaged street signs had been replaced.

Police Chief Brian White reported four warrants served during the month of January, including one for Pike County. There were nine citations and 48 traffic stops.

The fire department had two fire calls during last month and several firefighters recently attended a training held this month at Center Point.
