Howard County’s two political parties have elected new officers and county election commissioners. Earlier this month the Howard County Republican Committee named Robert Williams and Glen Semmler as commissioners. Williams replaces Larry Dunaway, who had served sixteen years in the position. The Howard County Democratic Committee named Angie Allen as a County Election Commissioner. Both Semmler and Allen have previous experience. This year’s elections will include both school elections, either in May or December. The election commission exists to ensure that all residents are given a fair chance to vote and that all rules are followed. The county transitioned to countywide “voting centers” during the last election.
