The 33rd annual Husqvarna benefit bass tournament for the Howard County Children’s Center will be held this Saturday on Lake Greeson. HCCC Director Rose Ray says registration is still open. The tournament will start at 7 a.m. and weigh-in will be around 3 p.m.
“It’s not too late to register. Register by phone at 870-845-1211. Staff will be at the SWAHA pavilion on Friday around 3:00 if you would like to register early.”
Tournament participants may also register that morning, starting at 6:00 at SWAHA Marina. Ray really appreciates the support of the community and says the funds are used to support the clients of the children’s center.
“We are a center for children and adults with disabilities. The children can start with us at two months. We have an occupational, physical, and speech therapist. We do have a typical daycare and a full time nurse on duty at our new Rainbow Learning Center.”
The adult program starts after high school graduation and provides work activity, an exercise program and other classroom activities. Clients are also now building and selling bluebird houses. Call Ray or Gene Stinson to place your order at 870-845-1211.
