July 10 Residence Fire in Nashville

Strong thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon and evening left more than 25,000 SWEPCO customers without power, in addition to other electric utility customers. There were multiple reports of trees down across Lockesburg and in Horatio.

Electricity was restored shortly after eight o’clock, west of Nashville. Around that same time, a fire ignited at a residence located at 1678 Highway 371 West…north of the hospital. Firefighters on scene say the home was completely gutted on the inside. Witnesses say the power came back on and a large fire could be seen coming out of the front of the house. The occupant was able to make it safely out.
