Lake Greeson Campgrounds Closed

Lake Greeson crested at flood stage 557.5 feet on Thursday, July 18th. The normal elevation is about 548 feet. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reports most of the campsites underwater at this time and that numerous roads have extensive damage. All camping reservations through August 1 have been cancelled. If you made reservations to camp during this period, recreation.gov will be issuing a full refund. Everyone is reminded to observe barricades and to not attempt to drive through any roadways that are covered with water. The Corps hopes to begin releasing floodwater by Saturday or Sunday. They will begin the process of cleaning up the campgrounds and preparing them for visitors to return as soon as possible. If you have any questions, contact the Lake Greeson USACE office at 870-285-2151.
