The Mineral Springs City Council will hold a special meeting today at 5:00 concerning Mineral Springs School District’s use of Bridgeman Park. The council met Friday and had a preliminary discussion about allowing the school to lease the park’s ballfields for their use. Superintendent Thelma Forte brought up the issue during a recent school board meeting and stated that the district’s auditor pointed out that most schools have some type of agreement in place for off-site sports facilities.
Other discussion during Friday’s Mineral Springs city council meeting included approval by council members to the budget for a generator to be installed at the fire department. The total amount came in at $19,000 above the grant funding.
