The Mineral Springs school mentoring program held it’s last meeting of this school year Tuesday evening. The program was launched three years ago at the middle school level and participation has grown each year. Sandra Rhone is the facilitator and credits Robert Holt, Director of the Healing Waters Outreach Center in Little Rock, and Virginia Howard, Executive Director of the The Healing Place in Texarkana, for helping to establish the mentoring program. Rhone has joined a task force to help Holt develop mentoring guidelines for the state of Arkansas. The program does not replace the parents or guardians, but strives to build a bridge between school and home. Also, pictured is Geanenita Kelly, board treasurer of The Healing Place.
