Moderate Wildfire Danger

The dry weather is now starting to become apparent as the Arkansas Forestry Commission has placed 24 counties in the state in a “moderate” wildfire danger category as of Wednesday, September 4. The Commission says due to continued dry and warm conditions, the counties in west and south Arkansas have been elevated to moderate wildfire danger, including in our listening area. There are currently no active Burn Bans. For the latest information, visit arkfireinfo.org.

Southwest Arkansas Radio is the official reporting station in Nashville for the National Weather Service. The radio station recorded a total of 1.32 inches of rainfall during the month of August.
