The Murfreesboro City Council approved the 2019 budget during their first meeting of the year this week. Big ticket budget items included a 2.8 percent raise for city employees and $35,000 for street department equipment if needed. The council also authorized $70,000 in street paving, which will be used if no state aid is received. Council members also approved consolidating the park financial accounts into one account.
