Murfreesboro City Council Approves Building Purchase

City of Murfreesboro offices will soon be relocating to the former Bear State Bank building. The city council on Wednesday voted to approve the purchase of the property for $150,000. Mayor Rodney Fagan says the move will include the police and water departments. The new building will require a few renovations and city officials hope to move in late this year or early next year. Mayor Fagan says the move will provide additional office space and a vault to store items in. The current municipal building in Murfreesboro will still continue to house the city library and the community room will be available for events. An anonymous donor has promised funds to help the library expand.
