The new Hempstead County Library in Hope opened on Tuesday. Construction on the $2.4 million dollar facility started in the summer of 2017 and features an additional five thousand square feet compared to the old building. It is located right behind the former library building, in what was the back parking lot.
A new circulation system was installed back in October and also offers a new online catalog at www.hempcolib.org.
Courtney McNiel is the director.
