NPD Arrest After Residence Fire

The Nashville Police Department has made an arrest following the investigation of a suspicious fire last week. Nashville officers were dispatched to 718 Ansley Street regarding a house fire on April 28th. Firefighters arrived on scene and extinguished the fire, containing it to one room. Fire Chief Justin Thornton spoke with the tenant, Eric White. Mr. White stated that he had set some clothes on fire inside the residence. Officer Cody Looper spoke with White regarding the fire, and White told him the same story. He is not the owner of the property. White has been arrested and transported to the Howard County Jail for the charge of Criminal Mischief 1st Degree. He is currently waiting for a mental evaluation.
